Introduction

Last week I accompanied my fellow Kochies Business Builder experts Linda Hailey, Julia Bickerstaff, Tim Pethick and David Koch to the Bushfire affected region of Marysville to assist some of the business owners affected by the fires. This was an incredibly humbling experience and one where I had to draw upon my personal development and motivational skills more than my marketing and sales skills. We enjoyed our time there and believe we made a difference to the business owners we spoke to. Our work was filmed and will be shown on Channel 7 at 11.00am on Sunday 19th April. David Koch

Cheers,
Rob

2009 Miller Heiman Sales Best Practice Study

The 2009 Miller Heiman Sales Best Practice Study is the sixth annual effort to determine the broad challenges currently facing the sales profession. The Australian survey results proved interesting when compared to World Class sales organisations. Some of the findings are:

  • Only 15% of Australian business’s know what the key individual in a prospect firm think about their proposed solution. This compares to 63% of World Class organisations.
  • Less than one third of Australian businesses appear to manage relationships well and are surprised if they lose a strategic account
  • 91% of World Class sales organisations leverage the best practices of their top performers to improve everyone else, compared to 28% in Australia.

Social Media Marketing Secrets for Business Owners

On March 17, Rob Hartnett from Business Performance International presented with Jasmine Batra from Arrow Internet on how social media tools such as Twitter and Facebook are revolutionising how business is being conducted today. Even an early start of 7.30am didn’t deter people from coming along to hear what is happening clearly demonstrating the importance of Web 2.0.

Social Media tools are increasingly being used to generate sales leads for business as well as providing an opportunity for marketers to get to know their customers better than ever before – this is truly targeted marketing.

A follow up to this event will be announced soon.

Welcome Back Sam Mutimer! Sam Mutimer

With the intention of spending just two weeks in the UK over Christmas to visit family and friends our Web 2.0 consultant Samantha Mutimer ended up staying for nearly four months. This was a result of breaking her leg on the first day of the holiday! It’s great to have her back in Australia and we look forward to working with her on various Web 2.0 campaigns.

Note Sam’s dedication to marketing by adding logos to the plaster and marketing this online!

Facebook Page Launch

During the month of April we will be unveiling the new Rob Hartnett Facebook Page. You can get a sneak peak of it here.
